Alina Hatfield

Alina is a 15-year-old sophomore from Elkhorn, NE. Her adventures in music began at age 6 when she started piano while living in Ireland.

Upon returning to the United States at age 7, she began studying with Anne Madison at the Omaha Conservatory of Music (OCM), and, at age 11, she won her first competition at the Nebraska Summer Music Olympics. She later went on to win the 2013 and 2014 MTNA State Junior Competitions and took second place in the 2015 and 2016 MTNA State Junior Competitions. This year, she was excited to perform the first movement of Schumann's piano concerto as a soloist with Orchestra Omaha.

Alina is grateful to have had the chance to study at several summer music institutes, including OCM Institute, the Tyrolean International Piano Academy in Austria, and the International Institute for Young Musicians in Kansas. Besides making music, she has fun playing video and strategy games, participating in Robotics at her school, and learning how to drive. Most of all, she enjoys playing with her dog, Jade.
